Lane County
Community Wildfire Risk Reduction Grant Program

The Lane County Land Management Division has received wildfire hazard mitigation funding from the Oregon State Fire Marshal to assist low income and/or vulnerable homeowners who are at least 55 years of age in rural communities across Lane County. This funding will be used to hire licensed contractors to perform removal of hazardous vegetation within 50 feet of selected households. The Land Management Division is partnering with rural fire districts and social service agencies to connect residents to this opportunity.

Western Lane Ambulance District’s ~ annual LifeMed Membership Program for myself and my household* members for the LifeMed fiscal year from July 1st through June 30th. Register Your Cell Phone To Receive Emergency Notification Alerts

Are you signed up to receive emergency alerts? Public safety partners in Lane County have updated their emergency alerting service. Everyone in Lane County is encouraged to sign up – even if you had previously registered for AlertMe (the old system).

Go to www.LaneAlerts.org to create a free Lane Alerts account and select where and how you would like to receive emergency alerts. You can also text your ZIP code to 888777.

Lane Alerts allows people to opt-in to receive notifications via phone call, text message, and email based on locations they care about. You can choose to receive notifications about emergency events that may affect your home, workplace, child’s school, etc. The types of emergencies that people may receive alerts about include evacuations, severe weather, flooding, police activity, and more.

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER YOUR CELLULAR OR VoIP PHONE NUMBERS

Some of the many uses of the system include:

  • Tsunami Warnings
  • Emergency Evacuations
  • Natural Disaster Alerts
  • Missing Child Alerts
  • Hazardous Material Incidents
  • Neighborhood Emergencies

Keep in mind that Lane Alerts is an excellent enhancement to our effort to share emergency information with our citizens, but registration will not guarantee notification of any specific event. You are still encouraged to visit Lane County Public Safety Agencies’ websites and to stay tuned to local news channels and radio stations during a community crisis.
